My husband, David and I moved to Elkhart in 2014 after living out of state for 13 years. This native Texan was happy to be back home! I grew up in Sagerton, a small community in west Texas, the daughter of a cotton farmer. Family gatherings, church and school activities and helping with cotton and wheat harvest comprised this time of my life.
I met my husband in college choir and we were married two years later. Our journey included 15 moves and 5 states and an opportunity to sing with the Houston Lutheran Chorale in Carnegie Hall. I’m happy to say we are here to stay! We have been blessed with the gift of two children and their spouses, Anna and Jeremy Willis and Christopher and Amanda Adler. The blessings continued with three grandchildren, Colton (EHS class of 2018), and Emma and Jenna currently attending EISD.
David and I are members at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Palestine where he serves as pastor. In my spare time I love to crochet and continue researching our family history. After helping my husband and children through college and graduate school, I went back to college and completed my college degree, 33 years after receiving my Associate Degree, you are never too old to learn!
I have worked in large school districts with large and small schools, it’s great to be in a “just-right size” school district working with excellent teachers and administrators. Go Elks!
